Shawarma Palace

Shawarma Palace is one of the staples of the Ottawa Foodie Scene. The first time I have ever had Shawarma Palace was in the Rideau Street location during Iftar time back in 2010 from what I remember.
It was a joyous experience as they gave us free dates as well as we were fasting and went great with the comforting and filling food. That was honestly the first time I also ever had a shawarma platter in my life.
Before that, all I have had was donors and kebabs and koftas, from my time travelling. If you didn’t know, I am not originally from Canada, but from the country of Bangladesh.
Since then, I have visited Shawarma Palace various times, and my fondest memories were during university where I used to go with my friends to have my favourite, the Chicken Shawarma Platter, especially during exam season! Sometimes where I literally just had the chicken itself, as it was enough gains for us ?
This time I enjoyed the Mixed Platter, which had both beef and chicken mixed, and it was even more filling. I would recommend having one of their arabic drinks or my favourite, the mango juice from Egypt! It’s just amazing, and I would recommend you ask the staff for it with your shawarma.
Besides platters, they have wraps and other items as well, like keftahs, donors, fries and more! Go with the hummus and garlic when you have their food as well.
They have also have their aftermints at the end which is a good way to cool down after such a heavy meal.
Shawarma Palace also provide exceptional takeaway and home delivery service through UberEats, SkiptheDishes and other local partners! I have shared one of our such experiences through a photo below while I was watching a movie with my family and munching on some food from Shawarama Palace!
To this day, I still think of Shawarma Palace first because of the numerous experiences, especially when I am extremely hungry, as I have fond memories. I don’t think there’s a specific hour of the day that I haven’t tried their food, from breakfast time to late nights till they close.
Would highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t already, or if you have, go again as you and I both know what it truly is about.
